Technology

BlackChili
The BlackChili compound is produced exclusively at the Continental plant in Korbach, Germany, and combines the latest polymers with carbon black particles and specially developed filler materials. Both cars and bicycles benefit from this technology. Mounted on a bicycle, tyres with BlackChili provide cyclists with excellent reliability, whether in downhill races on a mountain bike or in time trials on a racing bike.

Apex
Used successfully for years in car tyres, its transition to bicycle tyres was only a matter of time. A natural rubber profile sandwiched between the casing layers at the base of the tyre stiffens the sidewalls, minimising tyre torsion due to high transverse loads. Stiffer sidewalls in turn reduce the risk of punctures and prevent the tyre from slipping off the rim. At low pressure, grip is improved without becoming too loose when cornering. The risk of punctures is significantly reduced.
