The lightest way up

The ARC 1100 SPLINE 38 CS reaches new peaks of engineering excellence, with carbon spokes that make it the lightest Aero wheelset available. Every element has been meticulously designed to optimise weight without compromising performance. The refined carbon spokes reduce weight, empowering you to conquer climb after climb. At its core is a new SPLINE hub laced on a 38 mm-high Aero carbon rim, our lightest ever. Produced using our PURE carbon technology, it ensures that, even when the road tilts upwards, you won’t have to fear gravity. For less steep gradients, the aerodynamically optimised profile will propel you to the top faster than ever before.

Rim
The ultimate climbing rim with a height of 38 mm combines the lightness of our PURE Carbon technology with aerodynamic optimization to get you to the top even faster.

Carbon spokes
The first wheel set with carbon spokes. Aerodynamic carbon spokes provide greater stiffness and lightness.

Hub
180 straightpull hub for carbon spokes with specially engineered design and precision-machined flanges.

WTS Aero optimized
With 26 mm Continental AERO 111 tires at the front and 28 mm Continental GP 5000 STR tires at the rear.

Technologies

WTS Technology
Optimizing the wheel and tire as a complete system to be even faster. Although we already offer some of the fastest wheels on the market, the next step was to start considering the wheel and tire as a complete system: the Wheel Tire System (WTS). With AERO 111, we developed the ideal front tire tailored specifically to our rims, taking aerodynamic optimization to the next level. The development of the complete wheel–tire system (WTS) is part of our AERO+ concept, the perfect synthesis of drag, handling, and efficiency. We have applied this technology to our Aero and Endurance categories, elevating their aerodynamic benefits to a higher level with a custom tire that perfectly matches the respective internal rim widths.

AERO+
The perfect symbiosis of drag, handling, and efficiency. When refining a wheel according to the AERO+ concept, the optimization of the various parameters is focused on a single goal: increasing speed! Translational drag is the aerodynamic force that slows the cyclist in the direction of travel. This force depends on the cyclist’s frontal impact area (75%), the road bike and its components (25%), as well as speed. To minimize translational drag, it is necessary to limit the frontal impact area of the rider/bike system and optimize its aerodynamics as much as possible. If you want to go faster, it is essential to reduce the aerodynamic drag of the rider/bike system, as this force increases proportionally to the square of speed. From 15 km/h onward, aerodynamic drag is the greatest resistance the cyclist must overcome. The front wheel plays a crucial role, accounting for 8% of total drag.

Spoke Technology
The creation of high-quality spokes marked the beginning of the company. DT was synonymous with high-quality Swiss spokes even before the founding of today’s DT Swiss AG. Today, DT Swiss spokes stand for durability and precision and, thanks to their exclusive manufacturing process, offer an unparalleled combination of lightness and stability.

Tubeless Technology
All DT Swiss wheels are compatible with tubeless technology, and ASM versions are tubeless-ready, supplied with tubeless tape and valves. Tubeless tires offer several advantages over the traditional combination of inner tube and clincher: the tire can be inflated to lower pressure levels without the risk of pinch flats (so-called “snake bites”) while ensuring superior grip. Lower pressure provides greater riding comfort, and the absence of an inner tube eliminates friction between the tube and the tire, resulting in reduced rolling resistance over terrain and obstacles. The use of tubeless sealant allows the tire to self-seal punctures and small cuts—an important advantage for anyone who enjoys long rides and might otherwise find themselves several kilometers away from the nearest repair shop in case of a problem.
