The BIG.NINE XT hardtail in carbon with Shimano’s XT components. The XT is more than a high-quality transmission and powerful brakes. To complete the picture and make our XT one of the most racing BIG.NINE, Merida has equipped the carbon frame CF3 with a Reba fork, tubeless ready wheels and an extremely efficient S-FLEX carbon seat post.
Mountain biking is one of the most varied cycling disciplines and probably the most demanding in terms of equipment. While full suspension bikes offer amazing riding characteristics, the classic hardtail remains one of the purest tools for pedalling. The BIG.NINE range equipped with 29-inch wheels is available in carbon and aluminium and has multiple geometry options. The BIG.NINE with carbon and LITE chassis, with its racing geometry, is an ideal companion on XC and marathon circuits, while the more relaxed geometry of the BIG.NINE TFS and SPEED offers a more comfortable and vertical riding position.

Technologies

FLEX-STAY
The profile of the pendants and horizontal sheath and the carbon lay-up program are adapted to function as a flat leaf spring, absorbing surface shocks and reducing vibration.

X-TAPER HEADTUBE
Our X-Tapered steering tube offers space for a conical fork to be mounted. Conical forks offer exceptional rigidity and precision, and provide a steering that inspires confidence.

INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING
The cables are routed through the frame, entering and exiting through smooth sockets. The bike looks clean, while the cables are protected from moisture and dirt.

SMART ENTRY
Brake cables, brake housing and hose are tightened under tension to prevent clinking when roads or paths become rough. All inputs are fully interchangeable to handle Di2, hydraulic pipes, brake cables and gearbox cable sheaths, etc.

DI2 READY
The bikes/frames with the "Di2 Ready" symbol are designed for installation of Di2 technology by mounting the battery in the seat or inside the fork.

NANO MATRIX CARBON
To protect the integrity of carbon frames, the fibres are bonded together with an epoxy resin with the addition of nanoparticles, increasing impact resistance by up to 40%.

AWS
When creating the individual carbon elements, an inflatable air chamber is used to ensure that there are no wrinkles inside the tube as they can add weight and create weakness. This results in a lighter, stiffer and more durable frame.
