Specialized Crux DSW Comp
The Crux DSW is much more than just the lightest alloy gravel bike ever made. Specialized took everything it learned from creating the carbon Crux and built it in alloy, using patented D'Aluisio Smartweld technology. It also created the most capable, agile, balanced and responsive alloy gravel bike ever made for fast, fun and high-performance riding. And yes, it's also the lightest. Some might call it a carbon copy, but we call it the Crux DSW.
Lightness
At just 1399 grams*, the Crux DSW is the lightest alloy gravel frame in the world. Together with the Fact12r Crux carbon fork and a high-performance build, the Crux DSW weighs in at 9.37 kg: no other alloy gravel bike can compete.
*size 56 cm in the lightest colour. Production frames may have a tolerance.
Capacity
More space means more capacity: that's why the Crux DSW has the same tyre clearance as the carbon version: 47 mm and up to 2.1" with 650b wheels. With its durable, lightweight alloy frame and wide tyres, the Crux DSW can take you anywhere, at full throttle.
Responsiveness
Responsive to the pedals and supple in the saddle. Specialized used D'Aluisio Smartweld to bring out the properties of the alloy and offer a ride previously impossible without carbon, combining it with the same high-performance gravel geometry and race-inspired riding position as the carbon Crux. A longer reach provides better weight distribution for quick and safe manoeuvrability, while a lower stack creates an aggressive position. With a 72 mm bottom bracket drop, we achieve the perfect mix of agility and stability.
D'Aluisio Smartweld
D'Aluisio Smartweld – or DSW – is a patented engineering process that uses hydroforming for maximum precision in tube joints, better and stronger welds, and ultimately a lighter frame that can be twice as strong as a traditional alloy frame. Smartweld technology helps us create a one-piece down tube and bottom bracket for the Crux, reducing weight and amplifying responsiveness.
