Specialized Roubaix Expert 2026
Two decades ago, Specialised created the Enduro Road category, proving that ergonomics improves performance. Today, the Roubaix with Future Shock 3.0 is lighter, faster and more comfortable than any other road bike. The road may be hellish under your tyres, but riding the new Roubaix is like riding in heaven.
Vibration absorption
The Future Shock 3.0 cartridge is the new star in the firmament, more adjustable and durable. Regardless of riding position, every cyclist can take advantage of 20mm of frictionless travel between the stem and head tube. Your hands stay steady on the handlebars, ensuring a smoother ride with greater control to be faster, safer and more confident.
Design
The low-clamp design exposes more of the seatpost to increase its flex. The Pavé seatpost “controls” this movement for optimal vibration absorption in the vertical plane. These two things together form “AfterShock” technology, and in combination with the Roubaix's stiff rear end, create a smooth ride without compromising efficiency.
Comfort
The Roubaix is the most comfortable road bike ever tested by the Ride Science Team - it reduces handlebar impacts by 53% compared to other bikes in this category. With the Future Shock 3.0 cartridge, the wheel glides over obstacles while the rider remains stable and maintains their trajectory on rough terrain. Normally, the fork flexes backwards on impact, causing a loss of speed. It's scientific: more comfortable means faster.
Capability
The Roubaix pioneered endurance geometry, giving you the feeling of riding “in” the bike, not “on” the bike. This reduces pressure on your hands, shoulders and arms, giving you capability and confidence on any road.
Performance
The new Roubaix is the most aerodynamic in its class, with new tube profiles generated by the Free Foil library and lowered rear stays. Building on the Aethos project - the lightest production road bike - they have created a new frame that weighs only 825 grams, made from FACT 12r carbon and 50 grams lighter than its predecessor. No other bike in this category is faster or lighter than the new Roubaix.
