Improved excursion
We didn’t just increase the travel - we improved it Thanks to the magic of the FlexPivot kinematics and the suspension with Proportional Response technology, the 120 mm travel of the Scalpel guarantees incredible traction, more control and more, Lots of fun - all with the efficiency and responsiveness you expect from a bike worthy of the World Cup.

Look and touch
No other fork is like Lefty and no other fork can do what Lefty can do. Its unique design and friction-reducing needle bearings ensure smoothness, responsiveness and precision of ride that no other fork can match. There’s a reason you’ve put so many athletes on the podium since its introduction almost 20 years ago.

Devilishly fast
Speed starts with geometry and Scalpel is already ahead of the pack. The open steering angle (66.6°), vertical seat angle (75.5o) and custom size length of the covers keep the rider more balanced. The result? More power and traction on the uphill, more precision in turns and a level of safety at high speeds never seen before.

It is not a statement of style
It is the result of a targeted design. Every single element of the Scalpel is first and foremost functional: kinematics, weight, rigidity and performance. Performance requires a given form, it’s not the search for form that limits performance. And fast also means beautiful.

Proportional Response Suspensions
The way a suspension pattern reacts to stress is strongly influenced by the rider’s centre of gravity, yet most designs on the market use the same layout for all sizes. Thanks to Proportional Response, we can customize the kinematics based on the size of the chassis to ensure the best performance in traction, braking and pedaling.

Geometric advantage
Custom fit keeps you perfectly balanced. The 66.6o steering angle provides safety at high speeds. The 75.5o vertical seat angle and longer reach keep you in the perfect position for power and traction on the uphill.

Fly low
The secret is revealed: The ability of a telescopic seat post to instantly raise or lower the saddle in technical sections or on steep descents is a speed secret that XC riders can no longer ignore. That’s why you’ll find them as standard on every Scalpel: to be able to dominate in speed on any terrain.

Always connected
The integrated wheel sensor uses the free Cannondale app to capture highly accurate information about speed, route and distance. It also allows you to register your bike, remind you to do maintenance and offers many other services.

New tyres
Increased range and updated geometry also means rethinking tyres. The 2.4" tyres on the new Scalpel have a larger volume than conventional narrower XC tyres, which means more traction and control, even on rough terrain.

FlexPivot
The key element of the incredible suspension performance and lightness of the Scalpel. The patented carbon foils act as a virtual Horst coupling, creating a true "four-bar" system that allows our engineers to precisely customize how the suspension responds to pedalling forces, Braking and impact, without the weight or maintenance of bearings.
